The IMD World Talent Ranking studies to what extent countries develop, attract & retain high-skilled professionals. It quantifies the resources committed to cultivate human capital, the appeal a country holds for local and foreign talent, and the quality of the skills & competencies in a given country. Together these three categories comprise 30 criteria, and each category

Switzerland heads the ranking, followed by Denmark and Norway. The rest of the top 10 is Scandinavian or North-Western European, with the exception of Canada.

Belgium holds the 11th place, down 8 places from last year and far below the Netherlands (5) who have climbed a spot. Our appeal to local & foreign talent is disappointing but stable at a 16th place, but our investment in human capital and to a lesser extent our readiness have plummeted.
