European Cities accommodating diversity
With increasing migration flows, governments increasingly face integration issues, and not the least in our capital. Local governments have a role to play mainly as providers of public goods and services but also as policy-makers and employers. In the context of a European project (DIVE), this paper from the Migration Policy Group provides concrete recommendations to European cities to promote diversity and equality within the context of a local integration strategy. The performance of Amsterdam, Rome, Leeds, Berlin and London is analyzed with respect to defined benchmarks. We can undoubtedly learn from some of their good practices.
