EU Energy/Climate package and energy supply security in Belgium
11 January 2010
With the EU Energy/Climate package adopted in December 2008, the EU Member States are encouraged to continue their efforts to both reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase the sources of renewable energy. That way we could become less dependent from fossil fuels from abroad by 2020 while better guaranteeing their energy supply. In this report, the Federal Planning Bureau measures, through simulations, the budgetary, economic and environmental benefits that Belgium could get by following the EU package targets.
