Education in Belgium is one of the most unequal in the world. School success heavily depends on pupil’s social origin. The “décret inscriptions” in the French Community and the GOK in the Flemish Community are at the center of the public debate but there is no word about the fact that pupils from low income families are more likely than others to be put into different teaching channels.
