| Details | The non-refundable part of medical expenses for patients in Belgium is double as high as in our neighboring countries. The financial accessibility of care in our country is coming under pressure. Do we allow as a society to let this situation further escalate or do we dare to think proactively about fundamental solutions, that guarantee the accessibility of care for the future generation. Can we set off the financing problem in care with additional taxes? Or is taking away resources for non-care-related priorities the solution? On June 29, Pieter Van Herck presents the Itinera report in which he reaches possible solutions to guarantee the financing of care. Prof. Wynand Van de Ven throws light on the existing financing models in the Netherlands. Prof. Jozef Pacolet then gives his vision on possible financing models for care in Belgium.
