Healthcare Project
Healthcare is among Itinera’s most prominent topics.
One of the major challenges for our society in this 21st century is how to maintain a dynamic healthcare system which combines high quality, accessibility, efficiency and solidarity. The Belgian healthcare system is under pressure from the widening gap between the needs and the available public funds. Profound reflection and wide-ranging reforms are required if we want to sustain a healthy healthcare system in the future.
Itinera has formed a specific team dealing exclusively with healthcare. The project “Healthy healthcare in the future” spans several years and is endorsed by a steering committee which comprises of experts from different sectors of the Belgian healthcare system.
The steering committee members are all authorities in their field. Their membership signals the importance of a fundamental reflection on how to organise healthcare in Belgium. The steering committee members are not Itinera’s authors. They simply contribute through their expertise and know-how.
